A Message without Words - Essay Example There are various channels that are used to ensure that public relationships occur and they include newsletters, public appearances, press releases and other mediums like the websites that can reach the globe. Benetton images have been used to deliver various messages to different audiences in the world on themes such as love, fight against discrimination and embracing interracial relationships. This paper will focus on the Benetton image highlighted above and the features that make the image an effective marketing and advertisement tool. It will also focus on the goals of the advert, the integrated marketing communication and the technologies used to ensure the success of the advertising program. The message that would fit the image is ââ¬Å"fighting discrimination and racial segregation in prisons and the entire globeâ⬠. This message is described by the picture where we find two hands which are handcuffed together and they are of different races. There is a black hand and a white hand which are handcuffed and they reveal a message that indicates that they are in prison but they have decided to fight against discrimination together. The issue of racial discrimination has been a long and upstanding issue that have affected both the whites and the black Americans and the issue has also been prevalent in prisons where the two groups of people have been fighting against each other. The picture demonstrates that if people would embrace the message in the picture there would be peace, tolerance and love among the whites and black people (Caywood, 2012). The goal of the campaign is to transform the cultural beliefs, stereotypes, perceptions and behaviors that have been influenced by the racial prejudice. The target audiences of the picture are the African-Americans and the white Americans who have experienced racial discrimination and target for hate due to their skin color and their

My Philosophy on Education - Hopes, Goals, and Dreams Essay examples --
My Philosophy on Education - Hopes, Goals, and Dreams When I was sixteen I started working with children from low socioeconomic backgrounds at a Family Resource Center. Everyday I saw how many of the children got overlooked at home and at school. This experience was critical in my decision to become a teacher because I know that I will always go the extra mile with each and every child. All children have lots of potential and need to be able to express it in some form whether it is with creative writing, making maps or building a model. All children deserve to be given the adequate time and attention they need to grow, learn, and achieve. Children should feel comfortable developing hopes, dreams, and goals and realize that they have the opportunity to achieve them. The pace and level of knowledge that a child learns is relative because every child learns differently. I think that children learn in many different forms including through the use of visual aids, verbal communication and written format. I think that most material should be broken down so it will be easier for the child to grasp. I agree with the theory of Socrates in that students should be questioned and questioned again so that they can rethink what they believe in. I think the purpose and importance of education is to develop childrenââ¬â¢s thinking capabilities, creativity, social skills and interactions to there fullest. Education is the key that will allo...

Apa/Aca Web Site Critique
Glenda Gale APA/ACA Web Site Critique PSY-460-O101 Course Fundamentals of Counseling and Guidance April 7, 2013 APA/ACA Web Site Critique I first chose to look at the ACA web site. I thought a lot of things were good there. They seemed To be open to everyoneââ¬â¢s opinions and keeping things updated yearly according to feedback they had received. They had a very long and boring list of rules but they were clear at the same time. I feel someone who didnââ¬â¢t have a lot of patience or time would not be able to get through all of the rules. The rules covered everything you can think of, from privacy to sexual relationships not being legal Between a client and counselor. I didnââ¬â¢t think it was mapped out as good as the ACA web site though. The APA web site had options right from the beginning to choose your psychological issues. For example, I chose to click on autism and everything came up that I needed to know. It went down a list of what you need to know about autism, trea tment options for autism, news articles that was about autism, and even a book section where you could choose a book to read for self- help options. Now, as for me, who has an autistic son, I found a lot of clear and understanding information on the topic. I was also pleased to find that there were different books out there that could help me understand different issues I am having with my son. Everything was plain and clear for me to understand and I didnââ¬â¢t have to scroll through a bunch of options that didnââ¬â¢t have anything to do with me or what I was looking for. This site even had an option to tell me what kind of counselor would be best for our needs. The web site helped me to see that I was not alone and that others are facing the same issues. If I had to choose between the two web sites, by which one I preferred, I would choose The APA web site for sure. It was easier to navigate and easier to understand. I know rules and Such are important and the ACA web site had an area for rule as well, but it wasnââ¬â¢t just all thrown In there together. Someone upset and searching for help is going to feel better with options to click on.I felt better knowing that I was reading everything there was about autism and that I didnââ¬â¢t have to Scroll through a bunch of other things to find what I was looking for. When I was going through the APA web site, I felt overwhelmed and lost. I couldnââ¬â¢t find what I was looking for and I just wasnââ¬â¢t Interested in staying there very long. Why is someone going to use a site that doesnââ¬â¢t give you options to choose from and then tell you everything you want to know about that subject only? The APA web site even has options to click on about each ethics code and read about each one individually. In being a counselor, I would find this APA web site easier too. If a client had a question about a ethics code, I could quickly click on that specific link and have their question answered as fast as th ey asked it. If someone is confused, they arenââ¬â¢t going to want to be more confused by reading a bunch of topics all jumbled up together. If a client came to me about a certain topic, like autism, I could quickly give them all the information they needed.I would even have a list of self -help books and what they are about to offer them to read up on the issues they might be having. If you have that information right there and ready, itââ¬â¢s going to show them that you know what you are doing and that would give them confidence in you if they decided they needed a counselor too. Having confidence in you counselor is important. Finding the right information is important too. Getting it quickly is even better. References: http://www. counseling. org/ http://www. apa. org/

gun control research essay - 1222 Words
ProCon.org recently featured an article that studied gun control. ââ¬Å"Stricter state gun laws associated with fewer gun deaths, study finds.â⬠The article discussed gun control laws in states with stricter laws tend to have lower rates of gun related homicides, and a suicide (ProCon para. 1) Gun control in the United States is becoming a wide spread issue and is becoming a problem everywhere. Although I am living in a city with uprising crime that has been skyrocketing over the years, I wasnââ¬â¢t aware of this being an issue all over the United States. I decided to do some research to find out whether I am in favor of Gun control laws or not. After reviewing many articles for and against gun control, I found out that I do in fact agree withâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦1). The researchers then ranked all 50 states from 0 to 28 based on their score (ProCon para. 2). ââ¬Å"The higher the score, the more restrictive the gun laws in that state,â⬠stated the researchers (ProCon para. 2). ââ¬Å"This study is a very important addition to our understanding of the connection between gun control and gun violence,â⬠said John Roman, a PhD, senior fellow. ââ¬Å"In addition to the general relationship between gun safety laws firearm deaths, also suggests that increasing the number of gun safety laws increases the reductions in firearm related deaths. So the benefits just get bigger with more lawsâ⬠(ProCon para. 3). After reading the ProCon article, I found myself agreeing with the researchers. I can see different levels of gun related crimes all over the United States. Just by living in Fort Wayne, IN where there has been a peak in gun related crimes and deaths gives me proof that their study was indeed accurate. If more states had stricter gun control laws they would start to have lower rates of gun related homicides and suicides. Next, I went to an article by Chuck Baldwin, an American Politician, who disagreed with gun control laws: ââ¬Å "Here we go again. We have another mass shooting at yet another ââ¬Å"gun freeâ⬠zone. Not only was the location a ââ¬Å"gun free zone, it was located inside the nationââ¬â¢s capital, which has some of the strictest gun-control laws in the entire country,â⬠Stated Chuck Baldwin, (Baldwin para. 1).Show MoreRelatedThe Issue Of Gun Control1573 Words à |à 7 Pagesissue being gun control and how guns affect and/or end lives, the even bigger issue though is the issue of how people can or can not write about gun control to educate the public.
